When talking about semi-pelagic trawls or high opening bottom trawls, Cosmos has a long history
and experience in manufacturing such, among others following top models:
Latest version of our Sand eel trawls, and a successor to the traditional Danish “Millionaire” trawl
design. The trawl can be used all-round and for the full season. Is among others made with a small
mesh lower panel, which has been found very efficient. Can also be used for other fisheries than
industrial species, both hard on the bottom as well as pelagic.
Second-to-none Sand ell trawl in the early and after season, but can also be used all season. The
model is very suitable when fishing on bad bottom conditions.
Cosmos Bottom Turbo.
This model is a development from the previous combi trawls for Cod and Herring fisheries. This
model is made with smaller meshes in the lower panel, and is therefore suitable both hard on the
bottom as well as semi-pelagic for various species. The trawl has been supplied in sizes from
2600/40 up to 4550/40, and can be made both with and without lower wings.
Baltic Sea model (Østersøflyder).
New type widebody Baltic Sea model, made in PE/PA ropes to make handling and towing easier.
Is presently being used for capelin, but is also suitable for Herring and Mackerel fishing both on
the bottom as well as pelagic.
Single-boat Baltic Sea model.
Is presently made for vessels with 800 hp and up, when targeting Capelin and Herring on the
bottom as well as pelagic.
Is made for fishing Cod in the Baltic Sea, mostly as pelagic but can also be used on good bottom
conditions. For vessels with 800 hp and up.
All-round trawl for bottom and semi-pelagic fisheries. Made as a widebody design with long wings,
and smaller meshes in the lower panel. Has been supplied in sizes from 750 up to 2650 feet.
Fin Combi ’07.
A successor to the Fin-Fly model, made in ultra light materials among others PE/PA ropes in fore-
part. Similar to the Fin-Fly Combi this model is both suitable for bottom and semi-pelagic fisheries.
